Just a simple photo of a male Mourning Dove perched on an old wooden fence rail high in the Wasatch Mountains<\/span><\/a> this morning. I took this photo earlier this month while traveling through a canyon in the mountains that are east of where I live in Salt Lake City. There were two Mourning Doves perched on the fence railing, I liked the images I took of this male dove the best because of the light angle.<\/p>\n

I hear<\/span><\/a> and see Mourning Doves calling often at home but I prefer photographing them where I find them in wilder areas.<\/p>\n

I know that this Mourning Dove is a male because he has a bluish gray cap with a rosy tint on his face, breast, and neck.<\/p>\n

Shortly after I took this photo the male Mourning Dove took flight. The other dove soon flew after him. I would have liked to have taken more images of the male dove, especially if they had shown his tail, but a bird has got to do what a bird has got to do.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
