As the nights grow longer and the days grow shorter\u00a0I start to think of fall and winter and the opportunities I will have with photographing my subjects in snow.<\/p>\n

It can be a challenge to get exposures right when there are fields of bright white snow but it really isn’t much different than photographing a Black Skimmer<\/a><\/span> landing on the sugar sand of Fort De Soto.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0 photographed this Chukar in a field of white undisturbed snow last January. As I recall it was bitter cold that morning but the bright sun seemed to warm the Chukar<\/span><\/a> as much as it warmed my hands.<\/p>\n

The trees are starting to change in the high country now and soon there will be a riot of yellows, oranges and reds of autumn leaves creeping down to the valley and after that will come the snow.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
