Starting today I will be keeping an eye out for the return of Bald Eagles to the lower elevations of northern Utah.<\/p>\n

This morning I saw in my Facebook memories that I had spotted my first of season Bald Eagle at Farmington Bay WMA five years ago today. Me and my friend Jennifer Bunker and were discussing my eagle sighting on a post she had made to my timeline and both of us were excited to see them again.<\/p>\n

Utah has Bald Eagles year round but only a few breed in lower elevations so most of the time when I see Bald Eagles in Utah during their breeding season they are high in the mountains. When autumn arrives in the Great Basin so do Bald Eagles migrating down from their breeding grounds way up north. Some of those eagles will spend the winter here. I will see them at Farmington Bay WMA, Bear River MBR, and beyond.<\/p>\n

Hopefully I will find and photograph many Bald Eagles from now until March of next year.<\/p>\n

I had a few technical difficulties this morning thus the short post that I hadn’t planned on making. This adult Bald Eagle was photographed on the wing in January of 2021 in Salt Lake County.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
