While looking back through some old winter photos I came across this Black-tailed Jackrabbit I photographed on a snowy day on Antelope Island<\/span><\/a>. It was very gray that morning because of thick clouds overhead which is much the same as the forecast is for today.<\/p>\n

Gray skies and low light don’t always mean that a photographer should stay out of the field. Visually appealing images can be taken in all kinds of light. I’m always grateful to be in the field with my camera in hand and I am even happier when I can find birds or other subjects in my viewfinder on those low light days.<\/p>\n

I am glad I didn’t take a pass on photographing this Black-tailed Jackrabbit in the snow. I like this simple photo even though the jackrabbit is small in the frame and the light was less than optimal. The image feels peaceful to me and I kind of like the distant out of focus jackrabbit next the snow covered mound of sage and rabbitbrush too.<\/p>\n

On gray days I probably lower my expectations just a smidge and that is okay. I have room for less than perfect images on my hard drives and as long as I am happy with the results that is all that really matters to me.<\/p>\n

Life is<\/em> good.<\/p>\n
