  • Clouded Skippers are small butterflies with brown wings featuring cloudy patterns of lighter and darker shades. Males and females have similar appearances, though females tend to be slightly larger.
  • Clouded Skipper butterflies are found in the southeastern United States, from Texas to Florida and north to Virginia. Some populations extend into parts of the Midwest and Northeast.
  • Clouded Skippers inhabit open, grassy areas such as meadows, prairies, forest edges, and disturbed habitats like roadsides and old fields.
