Wispy clouds heading to Fish Springs NWR through the West Desert of Utah

Juab County Images

Juab County lies on the west side of Utah. Its west border abuts the east border of the state of Nevada. Its planar areas consist of rugged arid semi-arable fine-grain soil, interrupted with hills and low Sky Island Mountains. Juab County was inhabited by nomadic indigenous peoples before the Mormon settlement of Utah beginning in 1847. The county is sparsely populated.

I enjoy photographing the spectacular scenery of Juab County’s West Desert areas, the birds, wildlife and the flora. I also like to think of the period of time when this area was at the bottom of the ancient Lake Bonneville.
