Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.

The Stories Behind My Images
Spotted Sandpiper in the Targhee National Forest
These Spotted Sandpiper images are from my last trip to Idaho and were taken near a creek in the Targhee National Forest.
More Fun with Burrowing Owls and the Dangers of Barbed Wire

Snowy Egret in breeding plumage at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge
Mornings this time of the year at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge are cool, delightful and early on the subjects can appear to glow from the soft light like this Snowy Egret.
