Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.

The Stories Behind My Images
Red-spotted Purple Butterfly At Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge
Sharing my lifer Red-spotted Purple butterfly! I took photos of it on a nature trail at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge, where I found it resting on the path.
Eurasian Collared-Dove In Arkansas
I'm sharing some Eurasian Collared-Dove photos this morning. I've photographed them here in Arkansas before, but these are the first images I'm happy with.
Pine Warbler With A Carolina Mantis
Two days ago before sunrise, I went to put suet in the feeder and found a Carolina Mantis on the stick. Later, a Pine Warbler arrived, and it got interesting.
