Photographing Spring Yellow-rumped Warblers In The Wasatch Mountains

Singing Gray Catbird Close Up
Gray Catbirds have returned to northern Utah for their breeding season and I am thrilled to be hearing their songs and calls again.
Male Broad-tailed Hummingbird Nectaring And Landing Series
The Black Twinberry Honeysuckles weren't even in bloom quite yet yesterday in the Wasatch Mountains when I spotted this male Broad-tailed Hummingbird hovering near some to get nectar.
Yellow Warbler High In The Uinta Mountains

Male Broad-tailed Hummingbirds On Their Favorite Perches
Male Broad-tailed Hummingbirds show a preference in the perches that they use to rest, to keep an eye on their territories and once they select a favorite perch it can be like striking gold for a bird photographer.
The Stories Behind My Images
Leucistic Canada Goose
I didn't see any American Robins feeding on crabapples yesterday but I did find a leucistic Canada Goose at my local pond.
Winter American Robins
There is a skiff of snow on the ground again this morning and it has reminded me that I should look for winter American Robins feeding on crabapples today.
Male American Kestrel Chest Plumage Variation
Two recent posts on Facebook inspired me to write about male American Kestrel chest plumage variation and to share six images of male kestrels photographed here in Utah.
Third Winter Herring Gull Photos
Earlier this month I was able to take third winter Herring Gull photos at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge on the ice from the auto tour route.
