Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.

The Stories Behind My Images
Fritillary photobombing a Two-tailed Swallowtail butterfly
Last week I photographed a fritillary butterfly photobomb a Two-tailed Swallowtail butterfly as it nectared on a Showy Milkweed high in the Wasatch Mountains.
Fledgling Song Sparrow Images
Any day now I should spot my first of season fledgling Song Sparrow exploring their world and learning how to find food on their own.
Yellow Warbler Fledgling Plumage Changes
The past few weeks I've been hearing and seeing Yellow Warbler fledglings while I have been photographing birds high in the Wasatch Mountains.
