Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.

The Stories Behind My Images
Defecating Red-tailed Hawk For A Crappy Day
It just seemed appropriate to share a defecating Red-tailed Hawk on day three of crappy weather here in northern Utah.
Western Willet Nestled In Sage
While I was up in Box Elder County last week I photographed my first Western Willet of the year nestled in sage with its eye on the sky for possible predators.
Dreaming Of Mountain Bluebirds
I woke up this morning dreaming of Mountain Bluebirds so I thought I would share two images of them from previous springs.
