Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.

The Stories Behind My Images
It’s Superb Owl Sunday!
It is Superb Owl Sunday so I wanted to share four of the owls that I see most frequently. Barn, Burrowing, Great Horned and Short-eared Owls are the owls that I photograph most often here in northern Utah.
Waiting For My First Of Year Sandhill Crane
In 2020 I had my first of year Sandhill Crane sighting on February 23rd. This morning I can barely wait to see and hear Sandhill Cranes again.
Male, Female, and Immature Horned Lark Photos
After photographing this male Horned Lark on Antelope Island three days ago I decided to share a photo of him plus female and immature larks in a single post.
