Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.

The Stories Behind My Images
Female Northern Yellow Warbler Foraging In Sage
I don't see Northern Yellow Warblers foraging in sage very often so I was thrilled to photograph an adult female as she poked around a clump of sagebrush in the Wasatch Mountains yesterday.
In My Viewfinder: Belted Kingfisher Male Up Close
It is always a thrill when birds fly in close to me and that is what happened yesterday with a handsome male Belted Kingfisher.
My First of Year Monarch Butterfly Sighting
I'm always happy to photograph "other things with wings" when I am out in the field so last week when I spotted my first of year Monarch butterfly I had to take a few photos of it.
