Red Fleet State Park Images and Information:
- Red Fleet State Park, located in northeastern Utah, was established in 1988 around the shores of the Red Fleet Reservoir, a scenic basin formed by the construction of the Red Fleet Dam on Big Brush Creek.
- The park encompasses roughly 2,000 acres of striking high-desert landscape, where red sandstone cliffs rise dramatically above deep blue waters, creating a vivid backdrop for wildlife and outdoor exploration.
- Mule deer, coyotes, foxes, rabbits, and a wide variety of bird species, such as osprey, golden eagles, and waterfowl make their homes among the rugged terrain and juniper-dotted slopes.
- Red Fleet State Park is known for its remarkable and ancient heritage. The surrounding rocks preserve dinosaur trackways dating back over 200 million years to the Late Triassic period, silently testifying to the creatures that once roamed this region. Visitors can follow a short trail leading to these fossilized footprints, where time itself seems etched into the sandstone, connecting today’s desert wilderness to a primordial world.
