  • Eurasian Collared-Doves are medium sized, mostly pale gray with a darker brownish wash over their backs, they have a black half collar on the back of their necks and have dark primaries. Adult Eurasian Collared-Doves have red eyes.
  • Eurasian Collared-Doves are an introduced species that has rapidly spread across the U.S. from Florida. They are not migratory.
  • Eurasian Collared-Doves can be found in agricultural areas including farmyards and fields, urban and suburban areas where there are feeders and seed sources.
  • Eurasian Collared-Doves eat seeds, greens, some fruits and human garbage.
  • Eurasian Collared-Doves lay 2 eggs which hatch in 14 to 18 days. Both sexes incubate and they are monogamous.
  • A group of doves can be called a “flight”, “cote”, “dole” and “bevy” of doves.
  • Eurasian Collared-Doves can live to be more than 13 years of age.
