Oklahoma became the 46th state of the United States on November 16, 1907. Covering 69,899 square miles, the state spans approximately 45 million acres.
Nicknamed “The Sooner State,” Oklahoma is a treasure trove for photographers, offering a striking blend of prairie, forest, and rugged hills. The state’s landscape ranges from the rolling tallgrass of the Flint Hills in the north to the dramatic mesas and red rock canyons of the west, and lush pine forests in the southeast.
Oklahoma is home to more than 200 lakes, countless rivers, and diverse wildlife, with the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher as its state bird. Its ever-changing skies and vibrant wildflower displays create dynamic settings for photography, making Oklahoma a rewarding destination for capturing the essence of the American heartland.
I hope you enjoy my photos of Oklahoma.
