Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.
I am a female photographer and nature writer who travels often to find birds and wildlife.

The Stories Behind My Images
Carolina Chickadee In Pre-lift Off Pose
I've photographed plenty of Black-capped Chickadees out west but it was about time to add a Carolina Chickadee gallery to my website. Now I have.
Adult Tufted Titmouse Attitude
I liked how this image showed great Tufted Titmouse attitude. As small as this species is, they aren't afraid to get in the faces of much larger birds.
Young Barred Owl At Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge
This is the same young Barred Owl that I shared in my post yesterday which was photographed at Sequoya National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma.
