Yesterday I had one adorable Eastern Cottontail rabbit baby in my viewfinder, and I was super excited to take a series of photos of him or her.

In all the years I have been photographing cottontail rabbits, I had never before photographed a rabbit this tiny. Steve Creek pointed this baby cottontail out to me that he spotted in his yard.

What I enjoyed about this one photo was that it looked like the baby cottontail was saying something because she or he had their mouth open.

I took quite a few more images of this itty-bitty baby rabbit and plan to share more another day, but I couldn’t resist sharing this one today.

How cute can a baby bunny be? This one seems to hit all the right cute meters!

Eastern Cottontail rabbits are plant eaters, and what they munch on depends on what’s around. They tend to feed from dusk into the night, snacking on fruits and tender green plants in the summer. When winter rolls in or snow hides the greenery, they switch to twigs, buds, and bark.

Life is good.
