It’s been hot here in Arkansas, so I thought I’d share a photo of a striking Common Grackle in the snow because it’s a cooling winter view.

I took this image in January of this year after we had about ten inches of that white fluffy stuff fall. It was a winter wonderland for a few days, and I loved it. The birds seemed to enjoy it too.
Common Grackles weren’t common at all where I lived in Utah. In all the years I lived there, I only found and pointed out one next to Glover Pond at Farmington Bay WMA.
Here in Arkansas, I see them frequently and I even photographed a Common Grackle chick this year. I need to edit those photos and share them.
I hope you feel a just a bit cooler in the summer heat by looking at this photo of the Common Grackle in the snow, I know I do!
Life is good.

I love how you are able to capture such detail against such extreme contrast. Nice shot. Thanks Mia.
