The Earth Laughs In Flowers ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
During the wildflower season is it easy to see why Emerson said that the earth laughs in flowers. With a rainbow of colors, sizes, shapes and forms wildflowers can blanket the earth. When I see the wildflowers nodding daintily in a breeze I can almost imagine them laughing.
I know when I am set free from the confines of daily life and wander in a field if wildflowers I laugh too.
Life is good.

And we can thank President Obama for 3 new monuments. Nevada’s Basin and Range National Monument is an extraordinary place featuring ecologically rich valleys framed by picturesque mountain ranges. Northern California’s Berryessa Snow Mountain is home to lush forests, meadows of wildflowers, majestic mountain landscapes, and crystal clear rivers. Texas’ Waco Mammoth National Monument offers a glimpse into the lives of Pleistocene mammoths that roamed Texas long ago.
For decades, Basin and Range has been threatened by oil and mineral development. Now, pronghorn deer, Pygmy rabbits, burrowing owls, red-tailed hawks, and the White River Catseye plant can roam, fly, and grow on protected lands.
