I wanted to share a brief Gray Treefrog audio recording I made last month. I finally got around to editing the clip yesterday.
Gray Treefrog clinging to a leaf – Canon R7, handheld, f8, 1/250, ISO 800, -1.0 EV, Canon RF 100-500mm at 500mm, natural light
The tree frogs have been calling a lot here lately, probably because it’s been such a wet spring so far. I heard some Gray Treefrogs just yesterday evening.
I’ve only seen one Gray Treefrog this year, the one I recorded, but it wasn’t in a photogenic spot for me to get any images.
The treefrog in my photo was one I found last July at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. It was perched on a leaf near the Arkansas River.
These Gray Treefrogs are loud. As a side note, the one I recorded was outside the house while I was inside.
I hope to see Green and Gray Treefrogs again soon. I love seeing them after a decade and a half without them.
Life is good.

Note: When I moved my site something happened with my upload folder for March of 2024 that caused some of the images to be missing or broken. I am working on repairing that issue. The missing or broken images affects posts, my galleries, and some pages. I have over 900 photos to replace that are older than that month, it will take some time. Thanks for bearing with me.
It took me a couple seconds to see the tree frog. Amazing how camouflage protects so many critters. Of course, it could just be my poor eyesight. Thanks Mia.
Lovely. It is way too long since I have seen or heard a frog. Sadly due to ‘puter issues here I cannot hear your recording.
Didn’t do anything but now I can see your blog.
