One year ago today while walking a road at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma, I photographed a beautiful Lincoln’s Sparrow perched next to the road.

So far, it has been the one and only Lincoln’s Sparrow I have photographed at the refuge. I hope to change that soon.

Lincoln’s Sparrow do not nest here and are only in the area during their nonbreeding season.

I need to get out on the open trails and look for these handsome sparrows while they are here.

Looking at my photo galleries, I’m aware that I simply don’t have as many photos of this species as I would like.

I’ve been busy the last few days setting up my new laptop, and as soon as the weather gets nice again, I want to head out into the field to look for these sparrows and more.

Life is good.
