Happy 88th Birthday Mom!

Two years ago today I was able to celebrate my mom’s birthday with her when she visited me here in Utah. We spent the morning up in the Wasatch Mountains where she enjoyed seeing baby Uinta Ground Squirrels, spring wildflowers, and beautiful views of the canyons and scenery. This photo was taken on that same day.

We saw and photographed Yellow Warblers, a Hammond’s Flycatcher, Gray Catbirds, American Goldfinches, Lazuli Buntings, and we heard a bunch more.

As I drove my mom slowly through the canyon we chatted about the mountains, the birds, and the creatures we were seeing. Springtime here in Utah is beautiful, especially in the mountains. The winding roads, warm sun, fresh air, and bird songs delighted us both. On the way home we stopped at the summit of Big Mountain Pass to enjoy the view of the Salt Lake Valley from there.

Today is my mother’s 88th birthday and although we aren’t together to celebrate it and we are physically 2,211 miles apart I know that this photo will bring us close together once again because she loved this view.

I 💖 you Mom. Happy Birthday!
