Pano of a female Northern Harrier in flightPano of a female Northern Harrier in flight – Nikon D810, f7.1, 1/1250, ISO 500, +1.0 EV, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light, not baited

I spent a little bit of time yesterday morning photographing a few birds including this Northern Harrier in flight over Farmington Bay WMA. This was the only harrier that flew in close enough to get quality images of as she flew past me at the boat ramp. There is still snow on the ground but I don’t think the harriers are having trouble finding food because there are quite a few patches of open ground where they can see their prey easily.

I’m always happy to be able to take images of Northern Harriers in flight.

Life is good.
