Hello 2023! I hope that 2023 will be wonderful for each and everyone of us. Right now it isn’t clear what 2023 will bring.

In fact, what 2023 will bring is kind of foggy and not quite clear like the heron in the photo above. I’ve seen people say the new year is like a blank sheet of paper. I’m not sure that I see it that way because I do have hopes, dreams, and goals I’d like to reach so the paper isn’t blank for me. There is an outline on that sheet of paper, for me anyway.

I don’t have any resolutions. I just don’t do that to myself.

What I do have this morning is what I want to do and accomplish this year. That includes expanding my skills as a photographer, spending time in the field and soaking up nature, and being the best person I can be. Being authentic. Learning more.

When I woke this morning and opened my blinds to see what the weather is like on this first day of 2023 I saw a fresh blanket of snow. Somehow that seems appropriate.

It is still pitch dark outside and I don’t know what my first bird of the year will be but I do know, that whatever it is, I will be excited to see it. I am anxious to see what 2023 will bring.

May 2023 bring all of you light, love, laughter, joy and birds!

Happy New Year!

Life is good.

Mia
