Last week I wrote about Long-billed Curlews having a Territorial Encounter but earlier that same morning I had another wonderful photographic encounter thanks to a scruffy looking, rain soaked Coyote waking up at the top of a ridge.

The behavior of the Chukars indicates that the males are already acting territorial and fighting for the right to mate.

This is the third consecutive year that I have photographed Black-billed Magpies working on their nest in this same location on Antelope Island.

Marsh Wrens

I photographed these male Marsh Wrens during breeding season when they were calling on their territories, while the male and female are alike in most aspects the exception is that only the males sing. And sing they do!
