This morning I’m sharing a Common Loon photo that I took two days ago. I enjoy how the red eyes of the loon were echoed in the reflections on the water.

It is just a simple image of a Common Loon that is passing through my area on its way to its breeding grounds. This spring has been quite remarkable because loons are being seen on bodies of water at lower elevations than they typically are.

As a bird photographer, this loon event has delighted me. I have had close-up views of these striking black and white waterbirds, and I have thoroughly enjoyed observing them. Learning more about loons has been great fun for me. Plus, the loons have brought back fond childhood memories from the Mitten State of Michigan.

Very soon all the Common Loons will head to their breeding grounds. Thankfully, I have taken full advantage of my time with them and have watched them dance on the water.

Life is good.

Mia
