For a brief period of time in December when conditions are right I can see the glowing sunset in the heart of my neighbor's spruce tree each year.

I took a photos of a White-faced Ibis glowing in the morning light at Farmington Bay on Monday. This is why I am out and photographing so early in the morning.

The stark contrast of the white plumage of the Snowy Egret against the darkness of shadows on the vegetation and water made the egret appear to glow.
